Between 21st June 2014 and 11th May 2015 I completed 3 Contikis.
I have written about topics endlessly, shared several videos and pretty much told everyone who came across my path to go on one. It’s safe to say that I am a bit of a fan girl. Thus, it almost pains me to say ‘ I’m going on a ‘Topdeck” Or, in other words I have chosen to go on a tour which is run by Contikis arch nemesis’
So why? you ask..
Well, initially it’s because I wanted to go to Jordan ( more on that later) and I wanted to go on a tour. It just so happens that these two overlap and Topdeck provide the two nicely hand in hand. I guess the main issue here was that Contiki firstly don’t cover Jordan and secondly the Middle East in general. So yeah, that’s why I’ve joined the dark side.
However, what it does do is bring a wonderful opportunity to compare the two… Although, to be honest, I don’t really see how you can compare the two. I’ve found it hard in the past to compare different Contiki’s, – one can compare too much before one remembers to enjoy the moments that come their way. In the way that the tours are run I am expecting much of a muchness. Comparing a weeks tour of Jordan to a 4 week America road trip is a little silly anyway.
On the topic of tours, now seems like a sensible time to mention that this will be my 5th tour ( including Thailand G adventures) in the space of two years. I am pretty much a tour whore.
All that’s left to say is what follows..
Topdeck, you have a lot to live up to. I’ll see you on the other side.
I’m a contiki addict myself so I’ll be intrigued to hear about your Topdeck experience!
