My Christmas Message

With Christmas done and dusted and just under a week until new year it makes sense to take a look back at the 51 weeks that have passed me. This year has been crazy. It doesn’t make sense to say it, but this year has literally been the worst and the best year of my life. If someone had told me this time last year that I would be in the place that I am now, I would have hoped to have been, but never would have believed them. Like with all 1st’s of the month it gives each and everyone of us an opportunity to start a fresh and to tidy away the worries of the last month. However, what’s different about December to any other month is that its the last month of the year. Its our last chance to get things right, resolve arguments and make peace before the New Year.
So whatever your’re doing today, remember that it’s a new day and you are capable of being the change you wish to see. As is usual and a tradition in my life December 1st is spent watching Love Actually…and so I will leave you with this.

“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.”
